All of our Johnny Reb protective riding gear is lined with DuPont™ Kevlar® (140-150 GSM). This means your gear will do much more than just look good on the road! It'll give you peace of mind, knowing you've got a little more than just regular old cotton between you and the road.

DuPont™ Kevlar® is a heat-resistant, synthetic, lightweight fiber that is high strength and brings improved protection to our riding gear. A fiber that is used across many industries for the highest form of protection in clothing.

"The gear I was wearing and saved my arse during my accident on the Queen Charlotte Rd going into Picton (top of South Island of Aotearoa, New Zealand).Here's my honest review of the items I was wearing. (Blackheath protective shirt & Biker jeans) Incredibly comfortable to ride in and never ripped nor tore after the accident as I still wear them proudly while I ride, the knee protection in the pants worked a treat as did the protection on the shirt.

The gear is ideal when riding in humidity and still have the piece of mind that you are protecting without wearing a heavy leather jacket/pants.

When I return to ride the north island I will be taking my Johnny reb gear once again.The price for such great gear in competitive with the bigger brands yet does the job, I will keep going back to this company again and again with their ongoing support of riders as their service is great.

"I’ve purchased products in the past because of the style and the price. I’m a safe and cautious rider doing 35000ks a year. I got pushed off the road by a truck 5ks from home and it was ugly but I’m safe with no injuries I’m so thankful for but it’s 100% because of the safety features built into the gear I was wearing.

"After the accident I couldn't understand why I felt so good when I'd just gone flying head fist into the pavement, also landing on my left shoulder, when I was lying on the pavement I couldn't feel any pain. Thinking I was paralyzed.A motorbike rider had stopped. To check me out lying there.. I said..I think I'm ok and slowly started to move and stand up..i couldn't believe it.. I was fine, besides crapped nuckles on left hand..my scooter was mangled (bent) so I dragged the scooter home, when I got home I realized I had my JOHNNY REB hoodie on!!

And yes I was jumping for joy because I knew there and then why I was not in an ambulance on the way to hospital......It felt like I was bouncing around on a trampoline when I hit the pavement wearing my JOHNNY REB HOODIE.And that is no exaggeration at all. The honest truth. Is why I felt obligated to ring. How there was no damage to the hoodie is be ond me."
