For the latest edition of the Johnny Reb Herald, it was a pleasure to interview 'Harley Throttle Juice'. Husband & wife moto vloggers from NSW. Capturing content of our beautiful country on two wheels. Check out their Youtube channel here > 

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.
A: We are a husband-and-wife team who ride Harley Davidson’s and create moto related content for YouTube and Instagram.

Q: When did you start riding motorcycles and what made you start riding?A: Rochelle started riding in 2011, whilst Roger started later in his life in 2016. For Rochelle it was something that she had always dreamed of doing, and for Roger he grew tired of seeing Rochelle arrive home from rides on her Harley and thought, he needed to join in on the fun.

Q: What do you both do for work?
A: Roger is a photographer and has a national technical role in the construction supply industry, whilst Rochelle is a stylist.

Q: What made you start your moto focused Instagram page together?
A: To provide backup content for our YouTube channel.

Q: How did you two meet?
A: We worked together in 1997 before going our separate ways. Whilst living in Melbourne at the time, Roger visited Sydney in 2016 and bumped into Rochelle unexpectedly – the rest is history including getting married in 2021.

Q: What bike do you ride now? What bike is your favourite to ride?
A: Roger is riding a 2023 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special Anniversary Model and Rochelle is rocking a 2023 Harley Davidson Low Rider ST.

These are our favourite bikes to ride.

Q: What was your first ever bike?
A: Roger first owned a Yamaha V Star for a short while, whilst Rochelle first owned a Yamaha FZR 250.

Q: Where is your favourite place to ride?
A: For both of us it is anywhere that has sweepers, twisties and lots of open space, well away from urban   environments. Sometimes we do very long rides, and other times we enjoy a relatively short run up into the Hunter Valley region.

Q: Tell us your favorite riding story or fondest riding memory?
A: We have done many long road trips together including interstate trips; however our favourites so far would have to be the Snowy Mountains Highway across Xmas in 2021, and the east coast part of our Tasmania trip across Xmas in 2019.

The Snowy Mountains Highway and then Monaro Highway toward the New South Coast has provided us with the most stunning and beautiful feeling so far on a bike… made us feel alive!

Q: Who do you enjoy riding with?
A: Often, we prefer to be riding with each other, however we also really enjoy sharing rides with our very close moto community members.

Q: Name one dream place you’d love to ride that you haven’t been yet?
A: We are both really keen to ride the New Zealand South Island, but also the US and in particular what is still available to ride on Route 66 – its cliché, but ‘ya gotta do it, right?!

Roger has driven the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to LA, but never ridden it, therefore that is on the bucket list!

Q: Why do you ride motorcycles?
A: We both have very demanding day jobs, therefore riding allows us to escape out of the daily grind, explore roads and meet great people.

Q: What do you wear when riding? When did you first hear of Johnny Reb A: We always focus on our safety and therefore almost always wear whatever it takes to be prepared, irrespective of the weather.

For Rochelle she wears anything that is functional, on trend or totally zany, and has a Johnny Reb Hawkesbury Ladies Leather Jacket as part of her collection, along with a pair of Bondi II leather casual riding boots.

Roger has various riding jeans including the Johnny Reb distressed range, and has a Johnny Reb Botany Vintage jacket as part of his jacket range. He also has a pair of Johnny Reb Bondi II leather casual riding boots.

We have known about the Johnny Reb brand for a few years, however, we did not take a proper look until 2021.

Q: If you could go on a road trip with any 3 people in the world, (dead or alive) who would they be and why?
A: For Rochelle it would be her dad, Keanu Reeves and obviously her husband, Roger (HTJ)!!!!

For Roger it would be his dad and brother, both of whom have passed, and Lemmy from Motorhead   who has also passed.

Q: Name your favourite band or song.
A: Alice In Chains has become a favourite band for both of us, and we both really dig the title track to their 2018 album called Rainier Fog which is a killer song to listen to on a bike!

Q: Name your favourite place to stop and eat on a ride.
A: For Rochelle it is Ken’s Humble Pie at The Entrance in New South Wales. Roger has many however a fave is The Mighty pub/café/restaurant at Lovedale in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales.
